Business Area Overview:

  • The UK Brand & Communications (UKB&C) department develops and executes communication strategies to help promote and protect the BNP Paribas reputation in the UK.
  • UKB&C is formed of the following disciplines that work together seamlessly: Media Relations, Internal Communication (IC), Events, Sponsorship and Graphics.
  • UKB&C is located in the Corporate & Institutional Banking (CIB) division of BNP Paribas and is directly responsible for executing communications to support CIB.
  • In addition to supporting CIB, UKB&C also has broader responsibility for managing the Group’s brand and reputation across the UK.

Overall Team / Job Purpose

  • The internal communication team and its members are responsible for communicating BNP Paribas’ objectives, strategy and culture to employees in the UK; ensuring relevant information is presented and distributed appropriately via a variety of communication tools to enhance employee engagement and efficiency.
  • The team acts as an internal communications advisor to UK business lines and support functions and aims to raise the profile of UK business in global CIB and Group internal communications channels.
  • The team currently comprises two Internal Communication Managers. We are seeking an Internal Communications Executive to complement the existing team and enable us to have greater impact across the organisation
  • The candidate will bring the ability to work collaboratively with colleagues across a variety of business and functional areas.
  • We need a strong writer, with sound editorial judgement, who is able to draft and edit copy, with close attention to detail and the ability to distil complex messages into an easily understood narrative.
  • You’ll need to be organised with strong project management and planning skills.
  • An understanding of different media and channels, with knowledge of how emerging technologies can drive engagement and business performance.

Key Responsibilities Essential Experience

  • Partner with key stakeholders: Support CIB business lines, functions, and other UK businesses with their internal communications requirements; planning and executing compelling and brand compliant messages that support and reflect business objectives, with primary responsibility for HR, Tennis, and Arts & Culture communications.
  • Tactical campaign and BAU delivery: Support the internal communications team with the day-to day tactical delivery of communications campaigns via our key channels: mass mailing      tool, intranet, news stories, announcements, email, newsletters and plasma      screens. With      responsibility for creating the weekly newsletter and managing the publication process for content on screens across our Harewood Avenue campus.
  • Digital content: With strong creative flair and an eye for design, transform campaign content into dynamic and engaging content (videos, infographics and PowerPoints).
  • Social media: Support the social media team on campaign execution, including template building and reporting as required. Support on driving engagement for      social media internally, including employee engagement campaigns and      embedding social media calls to action within internal communications.  
  • Measurement and evaluation: Measure and evaluate the success of communications activity as a means of continuous improvement. Develop and execute internal communications strategies      in conjunction with internal stakeholders at all levels of seniority
  • Ensure internal communication messages are consistent with external communication messages
  • Help to execute internal communication response to crises.

 

Essential Experience

  • Strong experience in a communications team, especially internal communication, for a large organisation
  • Demonstrable experience of writing all manner of communications for a variety of different audiences
  • Proven management of complex projects and advising senior managers

  • Educated to degree level or higher
  • Natural flair for communications. Creative.
