VIE position in New York starting beginning of February 2018

The Corporate Banking & Coverage (CBC) COO team is the interface between Americas’ coverage units, the corporate platform activities and the central & regional functions. The team supports day-to-day operations, strategy and development of the businesses, while ensuring efficient allocation of resources and providing sound services and support to the overall platform and its management.
The Americas Corporate Banking & Coverage COO team’s mission is to:

• Support Americas’ clients and the development of Corporate Banking Americas
• Report on client and business performance
• Support CBC management and individual product teams
• Ensure operational and regulatory excellence
• Champion platform data industrialization, digitalization, processes, strategic projects and governance

This position is a part of the CBC Business Management team. The team focuses on day-to-day business operations as well as strategic development, and contributes to the underlying objective of maintaining and adapting a strong permanent control framework, sound profitability metrics and efficient processes for Corporate Banking & Coverage Americas.

Moreover, the team plays a key role in supporting the front-office with business related tasks:

• Monitoring of ongoing transactions
• Assistance with HR processes and topics
• Coordination with Compliance, Legal, Finance, and other key functions
• Monitoring of revenues and costs in collaboration with Performance Management
• Providing assistance to the Business Head on project management, strategic initiatives and communication to internal stakeholders

This position will specifically support Advisory Americas.

Advisory Americas (Advisory) delivers advisory services for mergers and acquisitions, primary and secondary equity capital markets transactions as well as equity private placements. The team includes over 80 bankers, including petroleum engineers, located in New York, Houston, San Francisco, Bogota, Santiago de Chile, Mexico City and São Paulo. Within M&A North America, the team is organized along seven primary industry groups: Materials / Minerals / Mining, Oil & Gas, Financial Institutions, Power, General Industrials, Consumer and Technology, Media & Telecom. Within M&A Latin America, the team is organized geographically along four regions: Brazil, Mexico, Andean Region and Southern Cone and covers all industries. Our Equity Capital Markets team operates out of New York and executes transactions in all industries. It covers both North and Latin America. Finally, Private Placement Equity provides advisory services for all BNPP clients in the Americas.

The VIE will provide support to the Business Manager for Advisory Americas to develop, build and manage the organization. He/she will work closely with the Business Manager to help lead and drive the organization's strategy. Specifically, the VIE will provide support in the areas of communication, operations, planning, strategy, process management and program management. This is a visible position that will have direct interaction with senior management and key functional areas of the Bank (i.e., Risk, Finance, Operations, Compliance, Legal, Premises, IT, etc.). Specifically, the VIE will support the Business Manager with the following topics related to Advisory Americas:

Governance:
• Prepare supporting materials for ad-hoc forums / committee initiated by Advisory Americas
• Prepare meeting minutes for Advisory Mandate Approval Committee, Advisory Management Committee, Advisory Grow West Committee, etc.

Risk Management:
• Ensure the timely performance of operational controls and their efficiency
• Report on the quality of controls

Monitoring of Current Topics:
• Assist in the maintenance of the deal pipeline through constant dialogue with bankers and other corporate finance regions
• Develop enablers to monitor revenues and costs in coordination with Finance / Performance Management

Projects / Initiatives
• Contribute to new projects launched by the Head of Advisory or one of its direct reports
• Assist in designing and preparing presentations requested by the Head of Advisory for regular interactions with internal stakeholders

Profile :

Advanced knowledge of banking organizations, in particular investment banking and corporate finance
Analytical and quantitative skills
Technical proficiency in MS Office, including Word, Excel and Power Point is a must
Ability to quickly learn and contribute to any dialogue / situation
Dedication and passion towards achieving business goals and objectives
Detail oriented with a complete focus on quality results and deliverables
Strong communication skills, both verbal and written
