Paris - Long term Internship - Corporate Banking - Commodities Coverage Analyst

Work Environnement :
•Commodities Coverage is part of CIB Coverage dedicated to marketing, promoting and delivering BNPP product offer to key clients of the bank active in the energy & commodites sector, including trade finance, structured financing, M&A advisory, Risk Management solutions (FX, IR, Commodity Hedging)
•The Paris platform is dedicated to provide coverage to clients active in Europe
Objective:
The Trainee is in charge of:
•Assisting the Commodities Coverage team members in monitoring credit risk of a portfolio of energy & commodities sector clients and
•Assisting the Commodities Coverage team in the origination effort
Responsibilities :
The intern will work with the Paris Commodities Coverage Team and will:
•Conduct strategic and financial analysis of an assigned portfolio of clients. He/She will prepare credit opinions on the basis of his/her analysis of the client financial information (income statement, balance sheet, cash flow statement) and on the basis of other information gathered (sector reports, broker reports, peer analysis, etc.)
•Prepare annual reviews for new and existing clients. Monitor credit risks on an on-going basis. Prepare specific credit request
•Analize credit requests coming from Business Lines from a risk perspective, provide input in deal structuring / sizing together with the Relationship Manager and the Business Lines. Prepare support memos as the case may be
•Support the RMs’ and Business Lines’ marketing efforts and especially prepare pitch books to present BNPP capabilities with, as the case may be, the support of the business lines
•Participate to client meetings and bankers meeting when appropriate
•Gather information both internally and externally, review specialised press and information sources, communicate relevant information within the team
Key aspects of the Training:
•You will develop your financial analysis skills, your knowledge of the commodities sector and of trade finance, and your knowledge of the BNPP product offer. Commodity players are active worldwide, you will de facto interact with clients and BNPP teams accross the globe
Profile:
•Master in Finance, Business Administration, Economics or Engineering
•Fluent in English and French
•Educational projects or experience in relation to commodities will be a plus
Specific/Technical skills:
- Financial analysis
- Advanced user of Microsoft Office
Soft skills required:
- Team working, communication, adaptability
- Rigorous in the content, presentation and timing of its assignments/ files
- Drafting skills (in English)
- Organised and methodical
- Interest in Finance, Commodities sector
