Work Environment :
The intern will sit within the Media & Telecom Finance EMEA (MTF) team of BNP
Paribas Corporate and Institutional Banking (CIB), which role consists in :
Originating and executing debt transactions (loans and bonds) for investment grade and leveraged corporate clients operating in the Media and Telecom sector, in Europe, the Middle-East and Africa. MTF has direct expertise in corporate acquisition financings, and works closely with the Media & Telecom mergers & acquisitions team of the Bank.
Its sectorial expertise encompasses telecom operators (fixed, mobile and broadband), cable, telecom tower and fiber network operators, TV (broadcasting and Pay-TV), cinema operators, content providers and publishing companies.
BNP Paribas’ Media & Telecom Finance team has demonstrated its ability to rank among the best European players in the media and telecom league tables:
− # 1 Bookrunner (ranked by no. of deals) and # 3 Bookrunner (ranked by volume) for Media & Telecom in EMEA for 2015 (Dealogic).
− EMEA Telecom Loan Bank of the Year by number of deals (awarded by Telecom Finance).
− EMEA Telecom Financing Bank of the Year (awarded by TMT Finance).
The MTF team is part of the Corporate Debt Platform and regroups
Key responsabilities :
Prepare internal credit notes on transactions and business updates for the Credit Committee :
− Analyze the industry’s dynamics and the strategic positioning of companies
− Conduct operational and financial performance analysis
− Prepare business plans and financial forecasts (P&L, cash flow statement, balance sheet and debt modeling on Excel)
− Assess companies’ financing needs and business opportunities for the Bank
Participate in preparing pitches and financing proposals for clients and prospects
Contribute to the general monitoring of the portfolio companies :
− Keep analysts informed of relevant financial news on the Media & Telecom sector
− Prepare quarterly dashboards on leveraged clients performance follow-up
− Produce sector analysis and case studies on specific transactions
− Update reporting tools and data bases
− Assist the team in its other daily tasks
− Depending on the workflow, the intern could also work for the wider Corporate Debt Platform
Requiered profil :
-Top business/engineering school with strong academic track record, and a major in finance
-First experience in investment banking / private equity / strategy consulting recommended
-French, English (written and oral), other languages appreciated
-Demonstrates interest in financial modeling and solid knowledge of Microsoft Excel
-Strong analysis and synthesis skills
-Good presentation and communication skills
-Team player and ability to adapt to various working situations
