12-month internship starting in June or July 2017, including 6 months in Paris (convention de stage) and 6 months in Brussels (CDD).

Work environment
Missions of the E&I FS (Project Finance) team include:
- Advising private sponsors and developers on limited / non-recourse cash flow-based financings for greenfield and/or brownfield projects (including the acquisition of projects) and/or participating (usually in an arranging capacity) to those debt financings
- Advising public companies in relation to the implementation (and the financing) of “Build-Own-Operate-(Transfer)” schemes
- Monitoring existing (closed) transactions (incl. annual reviews, waivers & amendments)
Sectors covered by the E&I FS (Project Finance) include:
- Infrastructure: transportation (highways, railways, ports, airports), waste and water, schools, hospitals, prisons, other public buildings
- Power: conventional power plants, renewable power (wind, solar, hydro)
- Oil & Gas: pipelines, LNG facilities, refineries, petrochemicals (plastics, fertilizers, GTL)

Geographical coverage:
- Europe, Middle-East and Africa

Responsibilities


Main Duties & Responsibilities:
Responsibilities of the selected intern(s) would include:
- Monitoring existing (closed) transactions (incl. the preparation and presentation of annual reviews and waiver and/or amendment requests)
- Supporting the origination and execution of new transactions, including:
• Assisting in the preparation of commercial proposals or general presentations to clients (incl. maintaining / developing the marketing tools)
• Reviewing and/or developing cash flow models
• Preparing certain sections of the credit papers (in particular: overview of the project and key parties, economic and financial analysis) and deliverables to the clients
- Participating to the reporting and budget exercises
During the first months of the internship, the intern will familiarize him/herself with the project finance world (including the bank internal processes and tools), with a more heavy focus on the monitoring of (closed) transactions. As he/she progresses along the learning curve, the intern will assist other team members in the execution of new transactions.


Examples of recent transactions executed by BNP Paribas’ E&I FS (Project Finance) team:
- Advisor to the Government of Kuwait for the implementation of the country’s new power and water plants fleet
- Financing of various wind farms in Europe, incl. major offshore wind projects in UK (Arranger)
- Financing of several solar PV and CSP projects in Italy and Spain (Arranger)
- Financing of two major gas-fired power plants in Oman (Arranger)
- Financing of a major oil and petrochemical storage asset extension in Saudi Arabia (Arranger)
- Refinancing of a wastewater treatment plant in the U.A.E. (Arranger & Financial Advisor)
- Refinancing of a portfolio of 5 highways in Spain (Arranger)

- Interact with other metiers of the Bank (e.g. Fixed Income, Coverage, Debt Capital Markets)

Profile
CV and Cover Letter in English mandatory
Conditions:
- Students must be in their penultimate/gap year (“stage de césure”) or in their last year (“stage de fin d’études”)
- An internship agreement (“convention de stage”) is mandatory for the 6-month internship in Paris

Profile, Experience & Skills:
- Top tier schools and universities (including “Grandes Ecoles d’Ingénieurs”, “Grandes Ecoles de Commerce”, Sciences Po Paris). Non-French students are welcome
- First experience in investment banking is preferable

Languages:
- Fluency in English is required
- Other languages (French, Spanish, Arabic, German, Portuguese…) are welcome

Technical Skills:
- Corporate finance fundamentals (incl. cash flow analysis)
- Modelling capabilities (Excel, VBA) are a plus

Soft Skills:
- Team working spirit – ability to work in and adapt to multicultural environments
- Organizational skills – ability to set priorities, plan actions and work methodically

Deadline:
- Interview process is expected to start by mid-February 2017
