The Commodities Derivative team trades physical and financial commodities, hedging and managing risk on behalf of BNP Paribas’ customers (both financial and corporate). The desk relies on detailed product and derivatives knowledge, solid understanding of the fundamentals of each commodities market, and excellent sales/trading relationships.

As a Graduate you will be contributing to the day to day activity of the desk with a strong focus on market fundamentals, analysis, interacting with the banks clients (financial) and supporting senior sales persons.


What you’ll do

The Commodities Graduate will work on the Commodity Trading floor, working with Structurers and Traders to interact with existing (and developing new) clients to provide market leading client solutions that help grow our business activity .

 

Key Responsibilities:

  • Support activities by analysing opportunities, producing research and market analysis.
  • Market commentary for internal and external distribution.
  • Identify new clients for the business
  • Support client initiatives
  • Develop presentations for use by team
  • Manage client relationships

Technical skills and qualifications required for the role

  • A minimum of Bachelor's degree in Engineering, Finance, Economics, Sciences or related disciplines
  • Strong knowledge of Capital Markets and Commodities
  • Proficient with Ms Office tools, Excel
  • Team spirit
  • Adaptable, diligent, rigorous and tough minded
  • Multi-task capacity
  • Strong mathematical, analytical & quantitative skills
  • Strong organisational and time management skills
  • Entrepreneurial drive, with proven past entrepreneurial activities carried out
