The Business Support Services department is a UK territory function that provides internal services such as facilities management, travel, health & safety, environmental management and database management amongst many others.

The scope of this role primarily covers BNP Paribas’ Corporate and Institutional Banking operations in London; however it may also cover wider UK communications.

THE ROLE

The CSR/Environmental Communications Coordinator will be responsible for supporting the UK Sustainability Manager in developing a variety of communications in order to highlight areas of success surrounding the topic of environmental management and to promote change within the business. The overall aim being to ensure that the Bank not only reduces its overall environmental impact but remains competitive within the financial sector.

Key roles and responsibilities:

  • Working closely with the UK Sustainability and Bank’s Internal Communications Team to develop a new communication plan for the remainder of 2017 and beyond, whilst maximising use of existing communication structures.
  • Developing content for communications, including written and visual (video’s, etc.)
  • Working closely with the Facilities Management teams, including the Catering and Engineering teams to better understand what needs to be included in the communication plan.
  • Developing a new intra-net site on the topic of Environment.
  • Develop a new way of increasing staff participation, for example developing a forum.
  • To a degree, work with the UK Sustainability Manager and UK Corporate Sustainability Manger to develop content for the Banks external website.

 

PERSON SPECIFICATION

Essential

  • You will have excellent verbal and written communication skills with a high level of accuracy and attention to detail.
  • You will need to be a good communicator who is able to influence others, have excellent organisational, and leadership capabilities together with a can do proactive attitude for seeking practical and effective solutions.
  • You will have an excellent working knowledge of Word, Excel and PowerPoint.
  • You will have the ability to work under pressure and to tight deadlines.
  • You will be highly organised, methodical, analytical, and a creative thinker.
  • You will have an excellent understanding of social media.

 

Desirable

  • You will hold a level 4/5 qualification in environmental management, sustainability or related subject.
  • You will have experience of environmental management within a large corporate organisation.
  • To have Corporate Social Responsibility experience.
  • To have experience of working in Financial Services.
