Work environment:

Metals & Mining is part of Energy, Resources and Infrastructure  (“ERI”) business line at CIB. Metals & Mining is dedicated to providing project financing, corporate and investment banking services to the metals and mining producers in EMEA. The ERI Metals & Mining team provides dedicated structured debt services to a wide range of metals and mining sponsors, from juniors to majors, across the precious metals, base metals, fertilizers and diversified sectors. Focus on Europe, Middle East, and Africa. Tailor-made project financing of greenfield & expansion, acquisition financing and/or refinancing transactions. Integration of multiple products of the bank (financing, hedging, advisory, …). In-house technical and environmental & social expertise.

Integrated debt franchise offering the full range of debt services: from short term corporate type facilities to long term structured project financings, and debt advisory mandates.

Through its coverage function for specific clients, Metals & Mining also markets and promotes other products of the bank, including M&A, Equity Capital Markets, Debt Capital Markets and Risk Management solutions (FX, IR, Commodity Hedging).

Main activities:

The intern will work specifically with the Metals & Mining Analyst/Associates Team:
 
- Modelling cash flow/ financial projections
-Analysing the risks (operational, financial, market, political, environmental & social, etc.) associated with our prospects/client’s activities
- Preparing KYC forms and Credit Committee applications
- Preparing pitch books and assisting senior team members in marketing activities
- Monitoring existing transactions (collecting and analysing updated information, preparing annual review)
- Taking part in the syndication of the transactions (drafting of information memorandum, answering simple questions from the bank syndicate, relaying and drafting answers to more complex issues)
- Taking part in debt advisory deal teams (prepare specific financial analysis / risk reviews, draft call reports, draft preliminary information memorandum, draft specific sections of bankability reports)
- Reviewing specialised press and information sources and communicating relevant information within the team.

Business schools / University / Engineering schools

Very good writing and expression skills both in French and English
