London - Long Term Internship - Valuations Analyst

Valuation & Risk Control (V&RC) is part of   a global team (Capital Market V&RC) with hubs in Europe, Asia and the   Americas. Key responsibilities of the group include IPV, risk reporting and   mandate monitoring. We are looking to hire an Internship to work in   Valuations & Risk Control with a focus on the Commodity Derivatives.

Length of the internship: 6 to 12 months

Start date: June (flexible)

Within BNP   Paribas CIB, Valuation & Risk Control is a part of ITO/Capital Markets, he will:

• Contributing to consensus derivative pricing services, and performing the independent        price verification (IPV), daily, mid-month and monthly
• Analysis of the parameters in the context of the IPV of the books                                      
• Produce accurate reports highlighting coverage, risk reports and IPV results
• Weekly monitoring of local and activity risk limits
• Assist in the Valuations and Risk Control projects
• Improve some of our automated VBA tools used in our processes

The internship will be initially placed in Commodity Derivatives team, with the opportunity to move across asset classes (Fixed Income, Equity, etc.) after initial 6 months, subject to performance.

Essential Experience and must have skills:

• Highly numerate – minimum of 2.1 in any of the year
• Very strong IT skills, must be proficient in VBA and Excel, any other language would be a plus
• Technically strong in areas of financial mathematics complemented by knowledge of market practice
