Paris - Long Term Internship - Corporate Banking - Metals & Mining Analyst

Objective :
• Mastering the banks’ specific technical tool so as to perform the analyst job without continuous technical support ;
• Have a good understanding of the various product offered by Metals & Mining & demonstrate client focus ;
* Internship in
• Banking in a Structured Financing middle office ;
• And/or as business analyst in a financial institution, •and/or in M&A, asset/company valuation ;
• And/or in the commodity sector (upstream, trading, mid/downstream) ;
• And/or work experience in emerging markets (preferably Africa/ ME) ;
Responsibilities :
The intern will work specifically with the Metals and Mining Analyst/Associates Team ;
• Modelling cash flow/ financial projections ;
• Analysing the risks (operational, financial, market, country etc.) associated with our prospects/client’s activities ;
• Drafting KYC forms and Credit Committee applications ;
• Preparing pitch books ;
• Monitoring existing transactions (following-up of covenants liaising with the client and the account/collateral officer, collecting and analysing updated information, preparing annual review, etc.) ;
• Taking part in the syndication of the transactions (drafting of information memorandum, answering simple questions from the bank syndicate, relaying and drafting answers to more complex issues) ;
• Taking part in debt advisory deal teams (prepare specific financial analysis / risk reviews, draft call reports, draft preliminary information memorandum, draft specific sections of bankability reports) ;
• Reviewing specialised press and information sources and communicating relevant information within the team.
Profile :
• Master in Finance, Business Administration, Economics or Engineering A previous internship in financial institutions or industry in M&A, asset / company valuation or in Metals & Mining companies is a plus ;
• Fluent in English and French ;
• Educational projects or experience in relation to commodities/ emerging markets/ structured finance will be a plus.
Specific/Technical skills:
- Modelling and financial analysis - Advanced user of Microsoft Office.
Soft skills required:
- Rigorous in the content, presentation and timing of its assignments/ files ;
- Drafting skills (in English) ;
- Organised and methodical ;
- Interest in Finance, Commodities sector ;
- Team working.
