Business Area Overview

BNP Paribas' Global Markets business operates in the Global Interest Rates, Credit, Primary, Currency, Equity and Commodity markets. With a broad range of products and advisory services, we help our global franchise of clients find effective financing solutions, and efficient ways to manage their risks and assets. This client base comprises hundreds of corporations, institutional investors, governments and supranational organisations.

Global Markets Performance Management:

As part of BNP Paribas CIB Finance, GM PM is the official provider of Global Markets financial information to CIB Executive Committee, Global Markets senior management and Finance

The team, which represents the liaison between Global Markets business and CIB Finance in Paris, is responsible for GM profitability assessment through data analysis and reporting (revenues, costs, headcount, resources)

The team is also in the lead of the budget process.

Key Responsibilities:

GM Profitability Dashboard: The resource will work on the implementation of a new tool, called the profitability dashboard, where GM financials will be available for KPIs construction, monitoring and analysis. The GM profitability Dashboard should become complementary to GM performance monitoring and should be designed to fit business and finance requests.

• Understand the data production in GM PM, be familiar with golden sources, be able to use autonomously the available tools and information
• Design and maintain the Profitability Dashboard data source
  • 1st phase: excel and/or access based
  • 2nd phase: pinked to the BR tool
• Design the dashboardIndustrialize the dashboard
  • Propose KPI/tables/graphs useful for the analysis
  • Discuss the proposal with the GBL analysts and supervisor
  • Design the dashboard
• Maintain the dashboardDocument the process: update the procedure if necessary, systems used and outputs. Liaise with all people involved to collect the formation
  • Monthly update
  • Implement any modification agreed with team or business

2019 Budget Process The resource will be integrated in the GBL supervision team to implement and follow up a smooth budget exercise. The trainee will assist the analysts in ensuring

-          a good supervision of the perimeter ﴾golden source﴿,

-          a strong coordination with the business and the regions ﴾be reactive, sharp in communicating, reliable in assessments etc…﴿, and

-          a good follow up of the data in system ﴾hdc database, cost database, etc…﴿

Main tasks

-          help develop the process and tools for business input collection,

-          assist the team with the data consistency controls,

-          assist the team supervisor in ensuring a good communication with the region

-          help develop the presentation supports to share the results of the data collection with the business

Ideal skill-set

• Fully proficient in Access and Excel
• Able to build and automatize reports through VBA (or other languages)
