Paris - Long Term Internship - Global Banking - Specialized Inventory Finance - Junior Trade Manager

6 months Internship (December 2018)

The Junior Trade Manager will join the Inventory Management Solution (IMS) front office team of STS Paris (2 Trade Managers, 3 Origination & Structuration Officers, 1 Team leader), and will be integrated to a desk dedicated to:
The follow up of commercial Transactions (with Traders, Corporates…) on energy, soft (cocoa, coffee) and metals,
The administration of hedging positions (Futures on ICE, LME)
The administration of specific transactions (short term)
The communication with the Paris & Geneva STS Platforms for loans, payments, with London for hedge confirmations.

Together with the Senior Trade Manager, the intern will be requested to: Ensure the follow up of accepted transactions (sales, cash reconciliation, trading activity, P&L…), Maintain a daily update of such operations in respect of the authorizations granted by the Bank’s Credit Committee (mark to market, hedge, release of goods…) Generally assist the IMS team.

Main activities :

Together with the Senior Trade Manager, the intern will be requested to:

Maintain a daily update of such operations in respect of the authorizations granted by the Bank’s Credit Committee (mark to market, hedge, release of goods…)
Generally assist the IMS team.

This mission entails a regular interaction with :

Account Managers (acceptability of new transactions, drawing under existing credit facilities...)

Coverage officers

Brokers

In due course, contact with clients (international commodity trading firms, large corporates)

Requested Profile :

Bachelor Degree / BSc Degree or equivalent

Business School/University

Languages : French and English Fluent

Technical skills required for the position :

It will be highly appreciated if candidates are already familiar with the main concepts of our activity :

• Commodities financing on energy, soft commodities (coffee in particular), metals

• International trade: banking confirmation / documentary credits / payments

• Risks: financial / price / legal /operational / documentary

• Basic computer skills (XL an absolute requisite), VBA, Pivot
