Work Environment :

Within BNP Paribas’ CIB division, the Debt Markets team gathers a group of 100+ loan (structured and vanilla) and bond (high grade and high yield) originators located in 2 main hubs, London and Paris, as well as in Frankfurt, Brussels, Milan, Madrid and Lisbon, covering the bank’s core clients in Europe across all economic sectors. The Debt Markets team regroups Leveraged Finance, DCM, Loan Syndication and Acquisition teams.

Credit & LBO Portfolio Management team is specialized in LBO financing across Europe (Paris, London, Munich, Madrid, Milan, Brussels and Lisbon). The team is responsible for the follow-up of LBO deals, from mid-cap to large-cap.

In the Paris office, the intern will assist Credit & LBO Portfolio Management team in analyzing and monitoring 50+ LBO Portfolio Companies and in the execution of related LBO transactions. He might also be exposed to other BNP Paribas teams (M&A, Syndication, Risk Management) as well as to external partners. His ability to integrate well into those different environments is key to a successful internship.

Responsibilities :

Participation in the analysis and monitoring of companies within the French LBO Portfolio through the elaboration of internal credit paper and presentation aiming at analysing sector risks, companies’ and peers’ financial performance, leverage level, follow-up of the debt quotations on the secondary market.

Contribution to Annual Credit Review through the preparation of market studies including competitive position, industry research, peers analysis, M&A research; financial and counterparty risk analysis; financial projections modelling.

Contribution to Quarterly Review by updating the internal monitoring tool (performance analysis, business & transaction description, current trading figures and financial ratios).

Participation in new deals related to LBO portfolio companies (new LBO transaction, add-on, recap, refinancing, extension, restructuring) via participation to pitch to client and internal credit paper with the support of strategic and financial due diligence reports.

Profile :

Major Business / Engineering School and Universities with major in Finance

Significant experience (i.e. long internship min 6 months) in finance, investment banking (e.g.: credit analyst, structured finance analyst, modelling etc.), private equity, audit or transaction services

Preferably a gap year internship or an end of studies internship.

- Good knowledge in finance and accounting, modelling skills appreciated

- Fluency in French and
