We are part of the BNP Paribas Group, a financial institution with solid foundations and a proven ability to adapt to change. If you are thinking about a career in investment banking, there is no better place to begin your journey than with BNP Paribas CIB. With nearly 30,000 employees in over 55 countries, we can offer you an exciting start to your career.

Context

Within CIB Front-Office Quantitative Research, the Resources and Financing Optimization team is in charge of building a platform to manage efficiently liquidity resources and securities of Global Market activities. In particular, the team builds a consistent framework around the three pillars of the security financing optimization: collateral optimization, Prime Brokerage rehypothecation and purpose securities lending.

Its office is located in BNP Paribas trading room, in central Paris.

What you will do

The purpose of the internship is to contribute to the global deployment of a solution that optimize and automate the usage of securities. This project is at the crossing of several Front-Office teams across all regions of CIB Global Market and BNP Paribas Security Services.

The previous internship focused on the introduction of friction cost to bring stability in the collateral optimization solution – a high-dimensional optimization problem of more than 1 million variables. The new assignment consists in generalizing the approach to a broader set of applications, notably the Segregation Engine in charge of selecting most profitable assets of Prime Brokerage clients. The intern will be fully integrated in the team and is expected to contribute to the team objectives, notably accompanying Front-Office users of Europe, Asia and US in the transition to the new framework.
