London - Long term internship - Corporate Finance - Equity Capital Markets

Our Corporate Finance department offers advisory services for Mergers and Acquisitions (M&A), primary Equity Capital Markets (ECM) transactions and balance sheet restructuring, combining the expertise across 9 sector groups with a focused international approach.

The Equity Capital Markets team in London originates and executes IPOs, Rights Issues, Placements and Equity-Linked products for clients in UK, Germany-Austria-Switzerland, Nordic region, Netherlands and Russia/CIS. As an Intern you will work on all products and regions as described above.

Main tasks will include:
• Working on presentations and related sections – pitching and transaction material
• Being actively involved in origination and execution of transactions
• Research and analysis for potential transaction opportunities
• Taking on responsibility for market updates to clients
• Participation in internal ECM meetings
• Maintenance of internal databases
• Daily review of financial newspapers and current events to identify new issues and market trends

The ideal candidate will have a strong academic record, ideally in Finance, Economics, Accountancy, Financial Analysis, Valuation, Corporate Strategy or a subject that has a strong numerical focus E.g. Engineering, Physics, Mathematics, etc.

You will have a genuine interest and knowledge of financial markets and products as well as strong analytical and interpersonal skills.

You should also have a hard working profile and be able to cope with pressure.

Excellent language skills in English and an additional European language will be an advantage (especially German, Swedish, Dutch or Russian).

A good knowledge of Microsoft Office is crucial to this position.
