About GM & Structured Credit Desk

Global Markets is BNP Paribas’ capital markets business within the Corporate & Institutional Bank (CIB), delivering solutions across asset classes, and industry-leading services for clients including Institutional, corporates, private banks and retail distribution networks.

Global Markets encompasses seven global business lines; G10 Rates, Equity Derivatives, Forex & Local Markets, Commodity Derivatives, Primary & Credit Markets and Prime Solutions & Financing, helping their franchise of clients find effective ways to raise and invest capital as well as manage their exposure to risk.

The Structured Credit Trading business within Global Markets provides market making and idea generation for client trades. Within the business, the suite of products includes the entire range of structured credit products: CLNs, Bonds Repacks, Leverage Notes, Synthetic CDOs, Structured Repos, Credit / IR and FX Hybrids, etc...

  

What you’ll do

Opportunity to develop a firm understanding of the trading dynamics within the structured credit trading business by:

  • Participating to the production and analysis of the desk risk and P/L production and attribution
  • Develop a firm understanding of new product development by contributing to the pricing and risk management analysis
  • Gain knowledge of the trade lifecycle from booking to settlement by interaction with the business support functions
  • Attend relevant regulatory and skill training and keep up to date with market issues

 

Technical skills and qualification required for the role

  • An good understanding of Global Markets businesses and products
  • Advanced Excel/VBA/Powerpoint required
  • Able to compile and consolidate data, analyse effectively and draw valid and reasonable conclusions
  • Strong interpersonal skills - able to communicate proactively and efficiently and adapt communication style to different people
  • Exhibits strong character traits in critical thinking and analytical reasoning
  • Able to present verbally and in writing in an effective and clear manner
  • Ability to identify and understand the potential risks posed by businesses and transactions, including market, legal, reputation, conduct and operational risk
  • Very strong problem-solving skills, e.g. capacity to analyse issues, identify solutions and communicate them in an effective manner
  • Ability to understand the regulatory environment and the impact of new and coming regulation on the Global Markets business
  • Strong mathematical academic background
  • Very results driven and delivers high quality, and high impact work
